Orem Elementry

after working at Orem elementary for a few months now a few things that I have found to be particularly interesting about Orem elementary are the number of children who either speak only Spanish or speak both Spanish and English fluently. in Orem, in general, there is a high concentration of Latinos.

Orem elementary's USDB (Utahs schools for the deaf and blind) brings in students from surrounding cities in Utah County. They have their own portable and classes but regularly integrate with the classes inside Orem elementary school.

I would go as far as to say that Orem elementary has a great diversity of students and a great accepting and welcoming atmosphere to all students who come. after watching both 1st and 6th graders in their classrooms I really feel like each classroom has a family like atmosphere and very experienced instructors. The principle is a very kind lady who does everything she does after carefully considering what will help out the students of Orem elementary.

I am very excited to continue to observe the teaching of these children and continue to learn new teaching techniques as well as become more skilled in talking to and assisting children in a classroom setting. I am excited to observe different age groups and different teachers to learn a variety of techniques and one day better assist my own students and help them learn in ways that are more comfortable for them.
